Zelgadis Grayswords
Does anyone remember Slayers? It’s one of my favorite anime ever, and Zel is one of all-time favorite characters! I’m excited to make his head-to-toe look, including sewing his outfit from linen! It’s period-accurate and also breathable, which is not something you can say about a lot of cosplays. I’m researching various kinds of makeup, and making his rocks out of Worbla scraps. The part I’m most concerned about is getting the wig into that shape.

After testing some materials that didn’t work, I decided to build up the rocks with Worbla scraps. I think they need to be a little bigger, but I;m going slowly so I don’t overdo it.
Face Rocks
I popped the face rocks off of the plaster cast (the chin didn’t want to come off) and gave them a coat of Gesso. The initial blue-gray color was too flat in photos, so I did some cel shading, then hit them with a light spritz of purple glitter and a matte clear coat.
